💍 Meeting the Couple

Laura and Tom first discovered my cakes at a wedding fair, where they tasted a sample of my signature lemon sponge. In Laura’s own words:

“We knew straight away that Lisa was the one to make our wedding cake as soon as we tasted her lemon cake sample.”

From that first meeting, we worked together to design a cake that would not only suit their wedding style, but also reflect their personalities and florals.

🌸 A Design Inspired by Her Bouquet

Laura’s bouquet became the inspiration for the handcrafted sugar flowers that adorned the cake. Every petal was made with care to echo the soft, romantic tones of her florals.

The final design was a modern wedding cake with clean lines, textured detailing, and floral sugar work that matched the colour palette perfectly. It stood proudly at Bartle Hall’s Woodland suite, a real centrepiece moment during their cake cutting, captured beautifully by photographer Neil Hornby.

“The sugar flowers were absolutely beautiful, and the colour match to my bouquet was perfect,” Laura shared after the wedding.

A combination of traditional Victoria sponge with strawberry jam & vanilla buttercream ,zesty lemon with lemon curd & lemon buttercream and a cream cheese & red velvet.
